It was for the 2nd time in the history of Madikeri (the beautiful misty hill station of Karnataka, South India), got the opportunity to host the 80^th All India Kannada Sahitya Sammelana (Kannada Language Literature Festival) from January 7th to 9th 2014, at the Field Marshal K M Cariappa College grounds, Madikeri.

By the grace of Almighty Allah, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Madikeri got an opportunity to participate in the Bookfair organized at the festival.

On 7th of January 2014, By Allah’s divine blessings and the prayers of Huzoor (atba) and in the presence of the Jamaat members our stall was inaugurated by the local president of Madikeri Janab M U Vaseem Ahmed Sb.

In our book stall along with other Kannada literatures, the Kannada translation of the Holy Quran was exhibited and kept for sale.

Thousands of pamphlets and folders were distributed for free.

The Holy Quran, and books such as the Life of Muhammad(saw), The Philosophy of Teachings of Islam, Jihad, etc. were sold in large numbers.

Large Posters of the Promised Messiah (as) and Khalifat-ul-Masih Khamis(atba) were exhibited which attracted the attention of the people who enquired about them to get further information. The Glorious teachings of the Holy Quran were exhibited in several banners which also attracted both the Muslims and Non-Muslims. The people who visited to our book stall belonged to a vast array of beliefs and communities such as Muslims, Hindus, Christians, Atheists and Agnostics.

            By the grace of Almighty Allah the Ansars, Khuddam and Athfal brothers of Madikeri, Mangalore and Bangalore voluntarily performed their duties by conveying the true message of Islam Ahmadiyyat to the visitors. We also got an opportunity to have healthy discussions with many people and were successful in introducing ourselves and clearing their doubts.

After reading our books, many people revisited our book stall for further enquiry and discussion. We came to know that, many nearby shop-keepers were sending their customers to visit our book stall.

The people who visited to our book stall gave impressive feedback, which is recorded in our feedback book.

During this occasion, two Kannada books were also released “Mahile Islaminalli”(Kannada translation of “Woman in Islam”) written by Sir Zafarullah Khan Saheb and “Dharmada Punaschetana Siddantha”(Kannada translation of the book “Philosophy of Revival of Religions”) written by Hazrath Mirza Tahir Ahmed(R.A). These books were released by the local president of Madikeri, Janab M.U Vaseem Ahmed Saheb in the presence of Janab Shahid Badruddin sahib, Secretary Dawat-e-ilallh, Majlis Khuddam-ul-ahmadiyya, South Karnataka.

By Allah’s grace and blessings, the books stall ran smoothly without any hindrance and obstacles by anyone.

The Grand gathering pulled more than 2 lakh visitors of about 30,000 visited our stalls in 3 days.

As the Festival was only on the Kannada language we were allowed to showcase books only in Kannada, but we were very successful in selling books worth nearly 30k Rupees.

Owing to the blessings of Almighty Allah, prayers of Huzur (abta) and the great enthusiasm, sacrifices and hard work of the Ansars, Khuddam and Athfal brothers resulted in great success.

We had also put up a huge arch at one of the main roads at the town center. This arch contained many saying of the Holy Prophet(saw) about Knowledge and Education, our slogan Love for All Hatred for None and the Jamaat’s name.

We humbly request your prayers for the Madikeri Jamaat to organize many more such events.

May Almighty Allah enable us to offer more and more service in the path of Allah and efforts to spread the message of Islam and Ahmadiyya in the region, Ameen.
