A Muslim cleric has cancelled a visit to Leicester after concerns about his views were raised.
Zimbabwe-born Mufti Ismail Menk was due to appear at the University of Leicester on Wednesday to give a talk to students entitled Young and Responsible.
However, members of Leicester Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) centre, in Wellington Street, said they would protest if the visit went ahead because he had previously made disparaging references to gay people.
