45.000 Menschen zu Jahrestreffen der Ahmadiyya-Gemeinschaft in Rheinland-Pfalz erwartet
Die jährliche Versammlung der Ahmadiyya-Gemeinschaft hat begonnen.

Around 45,000 people are expected to gather at the airfield in Mendig, Rhineland-Palatinate, through Sunday. To mark the opening, organizers hoisted the German flag and offered a prayer for peace. A tent city has been set up, featuring areas for prayer, dining, and exhibitions, as well as a bazaar.
This gathering—also known as "Jalsa Salana"—is taking place for the 50th time. Wagishauser, the national chairman of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, stated that the event aims to showcase what is a lived reality for the majority of Muslims in Germany: volunteer work, social cohesion, and a clear commitment to peace and democracy. He criticized the fact that these aspects are rarely reflected in much of the current campaigning for state elections.
The Ahmadiyya community identifies as a Muslim group. It originated in northern India in the late 19th century and traces its roots to Mirza Ghulam Ahmad. Because he regarded himself as a prophet—among other reasons—the group is often not recognized by other Muslims.

Auf dem Flugplatz im rheinland-pfälzischen Mendig werden bis Sonntag rund 45.000 Menschen erwartet. Zur Eröffnung hissten die Organisatoren die deutsche Fahne und sprachen ein Friedensgebet. Es wurde eine Art Zeltstadt aufgebaut, mit Orten zum Beten, Essen, für Ausstellungen und einem Basar.
Das auch „Jalsa Salana“ genannte Treffen findet zum 50. Mal statt. Der Bundesvorsitzende der „Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat“, Wagishauser, sagte, man mache sichtbar, was für die Mehrheit der Muslime in Deutschland gelebte Realität sei: Ehrenamt, Zusammenhalt und ein klares Bekenntnis zu Frieden und Demokratie. In weiten Teilen der aktuellen Landtagswahlkämpfe komme das ledier kaum vor, kritisierte er.
Die Ahmadiyya versteht sich als muslimische Gemeinde. Sie entstand Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts in Nordindien und geht auf Mirza Ghulam Ahmad zurück. Unter anderem weil dieser sich als Prophet sah, wird die Gruppierung von anderen Muslimen oft nicht anerkannt.
