TI Ahmadiyya tops in Project citizen competition

TI Ahmadiyya Senior High School (SHS) won this year’s Project Citizen competition which was organized for the five Senior High Schools in the Wa Municipality for students to showcase their understanding of social problems and present plans for their resolution.

The Wa Senior High Technical High School came second while Wa Senior High School took the third position. The other schools which took participated were the Wa Technical Institute and the Wa Islamic Senior High school.

The event, which marked the fourth annual Project Citizen competitions organized by the National Commission on Civic Education (NCCE), was held at the Wa Senior High Technical School.

Issues showcased were stigmatization of persons with disabilities in political appointment in the Upper West Region, the effect of communication on the health status of the deaf and dumb and high illiteracy rates among women in the region.
