ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf President Makhdoom Javed Hashmi said that the current blasphemy law in the country is against Islamic principles and must be amended.
During a session at National Assembly Javed Hashmi responded and said that Pakistan was created by Qauid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah so that citizens of all religions to be provided with equal opportunities without prejudice no matter what religion of a person is. But today no leader is present in the country. The decisions are being taken by Prime Minister of Pakistan in Washington.
President of PTI said that religion is used as a tool to get to the top most position in politics. The minorities have neither said anything against Pakistan nor they are involved conspiring against the country. Hashmi said that they too must be allowed a chance to contest for elections and called for amendment of blasphemy law.
Earlier, spokesperson of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Dr. Shireen Mazari also said that amendments to Blasphemy Law is a must.

If the blasphemy law of Pakistan is annulled with the sincere effort of PTI’s Javed Hashim’s and Dr Shareen Mazari’s and their party, will no doubt gain the appreciation of the minority communities in Pakistan as this is hanging over their head like a democlesis sword.I have reservation over their success as long as the Muslim zealots are ruling the roost. The long suffering minorities’ prayers will always be there.
