  1. I think these so-called Muslim Patrol men should be arrested. No contesting it. I live in the Canterbury area and have seen Muslim women students wearing the Hijab within site of the Cathedral. If I were to say to them that they must remove their Hijabs to show respect for the christian religion, which teaches the only head covering for a woman is her own long hair and nothing else and that they insult Christianity, I would be reported to the Police and would be arrested and probably prosecuted under some of the Left wing PC laws passed under the previous Labour Government. So why are these Men not arrested and prosecuted? By the way, most Muslims I have met have told me there is nothing in the Koran telling a Muslim women to wear a Hijab.

  2. This is the most annoying thing that I have seen. They are defaming Islam rather then serving it. Islam is peace not trouble. It’s laws of Alcohol and observing Purdah the veil are not implacable on the people that do not follow it.
    These people are just stupid.

I watched the movie which says if you do not obey God we do not respect you.
I believe they are not Muslim . Their sheer intention is to create unrest and sow hate for Islam. They should be seriously dealt with. And brought forth before public. Whoever they are.Should be given a deserving punishment.

  3. Graeme, are you sure about Christian teaching that it “teaches the only head covering for a woman is her own long hair and nothing else”. I ask this because photos and statues of Mary always show her head nicely covered. I just did a quick image search on Google to verify this.

I am also interested to know if you can support yourself from Bible.

  4. There is clear command for a Muslim woman to dress up modestly. In Quran it is mentioned as “jalaabeeb” a sheet of cloth that Muslim women must cover her head with and pull it over her bosom. So that she may be distinguished from an ordinary women and not be troubled.
And it clearly states that a Muslim women should not show her beauty to the men other then her family.
She can show her face to her brothers , father sons etc. She should not accompany strange men and neither make secret male friends. (Men are too not exempted from this code of conduct.)
For men too there is certain code of dress. And that they too lower their gaze and not stare fixedly at the ladies.
They should not be alone with “Naa-mehram” i.e a person other then her near family men.
But as for veiling the face the wives of Prophet did it and the wives of his companions to did this. This is how they understood and implemented it in their routine lives.
But since the word to word translation has some margin . That is why the women from every walk of life benefit and use it accordingly to their situation. There is flexibility in Islam as it is the religion according to human nature.
The main aim is to instil modesty and promote purity in human race.

  5. Zeeshan, You are mistaken about Mary. The Painters of the Renaissance period painted her as they thought he looked and dressed and not how she did in fact dress. 2000 years ago, Hebrew women like the men wore a head covering to protect themselves from the fierce burning Middle Eastern sun. bare in mind, that Sura 24 Ayat 31 in the Koran is taking about the semi-nakedness of the pagan Arabs of Muhammad’s era and is an instruction from him to cover their breasts in public. The Hijab should be worn over the breasts not the head and hair. You are simply putting the Hijab in wrong place. Islamic scholars like the late Dr Zaki Badawi, Gemal Al-Banna and Siad Al-Ashmawi could have told you this.

  6. I think in general the Qur’an tells both men and women to dress modestly. Yes, as Sister Anisa says, it does say that women going out should put a loose cover over themselves which will cover their heads and bosoms. There is no doubt about it.

But, the discussion here is that whether somebody, like these fanatical men have the right to do what they are doing. They don’t!

How are they differentiating between Muslims and non-Muslims or are they even doing that?

Yes, as Br. Raffiq suggests they should all be rounded up and returned to Saudi Arabia which is probably the right place for them to be with their over-enthusiasm.

They have no business forcing anything on anybody, including Muslims.

  7. Glorious Qurans says: la-kum deenakum waliya deen,
to you your faith and to me my faith. No one has the right to force women to wear head covers, especially if they are not Muslims. Some of those who have been brain washed and are born in the UK, their home is not KSA, their home is UK. These young minds need to be taught respect for others, respect of the law and self-respect. we cannot ignore them, they are the future of UK.

  8. Different versions of Bible containing the verse about woman’s head covering

    New International Version (©1984)
If a woman does not cover her head, she should have her hair cut off; and if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut or shaved off, she should cover her head.
    New Living Translation (©2007)
Yes, if she refuses to wear a head covering, she should cut off all her hair! But since it is shameful for a woman to have her hair cut or her head shaved, she should wear a covering.

    English Standard Version (©2001)
For if a wife will not cover her head, then she should cut her hair short. But since it is disgraceful for a wife to cut off her hair or shave her head, let her cover her head.

    New American Standard Bible (©1995)
For if a woman does not cover her head, let her also have her hair cut off; but if it is disgraceful for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, let her cover her head.

    Holman Christian Standard Bible (©2009)
So if a woman’s head is not covered, her hair should be cut off. But if it is disgraceful for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, she should be covered.

    International Standard Version (©2012)
So if a woman does not cover her head, she should cut off her hair. If it is a disgrace for a woman to cut off her hair or shave her head, let her cover her own head.

    King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.)
For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.

Aramaic Bible in Plain English (©2010)
For if a woman is not covered, she should also be sheared, but if it is a disgrace for a woman to be sheared or shaven, let her be covered.

    GOD’S WORD® Translation (©1995)
So if a woman doesn’t cover her head, she should cut off her hair. If it’s a disgrace for a woman to cut off her hair or shave her head, she should cover her head.

    King James 2000 Bible (©2003)
For if the woman is not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it is a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.

    American King James Version
For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.

And many more. It was not because of the sun or heat. It was purely for modesty which by ignoring this verse has become a soar in the west.

  9. Anisa, don’t twist New Testament scripture out of context please. Your quotes have not told the whole story. A Christian woman needs only to cover her hair when she says her prayers and not at any other times. Corinthians 11:14 and 15, state, Does not Nature itself teach you, that if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? But if a woman have long hair,it is a glory, for her hair is given to her for a covering. Timothy 2:9 states women should not have broided hair. Put two and two together and make four. Men were clearly seeing women’s long hair whether married or single, otherwise how would they know about what is meant by nature itself teaches you? however, the quote can not be taken too seriously, as it critises men with long hair. Jesus reputedly had long hair as indeed did the Nazarites in chapter 6 book of numbers. Moreover, your Hijabs are unnecessary to wear. I would suggest you research Al-Hadith al Riyad wa Bayad. It is a 12th century Arab Love story. Then explain why none of the women in the illustrations are wearing head coverings? The Hijab was invented in 1970 in the Lebanon by an Iranian Iman. When King Hussein of Jordan expelled the PLO in the Lebanon, The PLO went around raping the Shiite women in the south of Lebanon. He came to the false conclusion that the site of the women’s long hair was causing sexual arousal and this lead to the rapes. He based the Hijab on an order of Catholic Nuns in Beirut; itself not endorsed in Christianity. This was a false conclusion by this Iman.

  10. The Muslim Modesty patrol should be arrested and thrown in jail if they did that in the US the women probably beat the shit out of them and tell them to f.. off I would
