Peace and Unity of Religions

Islām is the first religion to extend peace and unity to other religions. As the Holy Qur’ān states:

Say, `O people of the Book! Come to a word equal to us and you – that we worship none but Allāh, and that we associate no partner with Him, and that some of us take not others for Lords beside Allāh.’ But if they turn away, then say `Bear witness that we have submitted to God.’ (3:65)

Islām is undoubtedly the defender and protector of all prophets and religions created by Him. The Holy Founder of Islām, Muḥammadsa, brought this message to all of mankind and he announced that a person cannot be a Muslim until he believes in all the Prophets of Allāh, including Moses and Jesus, peace be upon them. As the Holy Qur’ān says;

“This Messenger of Ours believes in that which has been revealed to him from his Lord, and so do the believers; all of them believe in Allāh, and in His angels, and in His Books, and in His Messengers.” (2: 286)

This doctrine is not only a main source of belief of every single Muslim, it also explains the character of the Holy Founder of Islāmsa and how he protected and further respected the prophets of all other religions. These golden teachings of Prophet Muḥammadsa tell us that he was deeply committed to establishing peace and harmony in the world. Because of these teachings, every Muslim is committed to respecting the prophets of other religions.

The conduct, practice and tradition throughout the life of the Holy Prophetsa were built on these fundamental rules. This is the base of every Muslim’s belief, and this is the reason why a Muslim cannot even imagine using foul language like many people do for the prophets of other religions, especially with regards to how they behave against the Holy Prophetsa.
