Girls equal in British throne succession

Sons and daughters of any future UK monarch will have equal right to the throne, after Commonwealth leaders agreed to change succession laws.

The leaders of the 16 Commonwealth countries where the Queen is head of state unanimously approved the changes at a summit in Perth, Australia.

It means a first-born daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge would take precedence over younger brothers.

The ban on the monarch being married to a Roman Catholic was also lifted.

  1. Well, there were rumours that twins might be on their way. In that case I suggest ‘job sharing’.
    The King or Queen can be in two places at the same time… (More interesting if they would be identical twins…).

  2. The first born will be the monach even if they are a few seconds apart. If the monach has an identical twin of the same gender then there may be pros and cons. But if it is of the opposite gender, then there probably will be physical differences (including clothes and style)
