ISLAMABAD: The head of the Forum for Secular Pakistan (FSP) on Tuesday expressed concern over growing religious extremism, bigotry and victimisation of minorities.
FSP President Iqbal Haider condemned the unchecked and barbaric killings and victimisation of Shia Muslims in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Karachi and Balochistan as well as the continuing harassment, victimisation and killings or forced conversions of Ahmadis, Christians, Sikhs and Hindus, who are forced to leave their homes to protect their lives.
“The FSP chief asserted that the premeditated barbarism unleashed by the Taliban and their supporters against minorities in Pakistan appears to be with the support of the civil and military establishment of Pakistan as well as of their intelligence agencies to allow the Talibanisation of Pakistan and convert it into a Wahabi state.” Mr Haider you hammered it really boldly. Crux of the matter has been exposed by you. To please the Saudi Arabia all has been geared up to teach lessons to Iran at the cost of Pakistani Shias. Ordinary citizen here in Pakistan has lesser value or importance relative to even an insect. Whenever state actors or intelligence agencies want their ill intentions implemented, these ordinary citizens are massacred in mass. Only lollipop type and temporary hue and cry appears in media and then deep silence prevails. Since many years this theater is going on and apparently no hope in sight for its ending. Still salute to you for your bold instance as well to newspaper which dared to carry it.
