The Managing Editor of The Inquirer Newspaper has urged parents to stop using their children as bread winners for their families.Addressing the first graduation ceremony of the Nusrat Jehan Ahmadiyya Elementary School in Po-River, Montserrado County yesterday, Mr. wesseh said children are not to be used to win bread for families a responsibility, he said should wholly be shouldered by parents and not children. He said it is the duty of parents to work for their children for successful upbringing of their children and not to use them to support the family. Mr. Wesseh said to do this will retard the process of these children as they will be out of school. He added that this might also expose the children to negative acts.
Mr. Wesseh, who spoke on the topic,” The “Successful Upbringing of Our Future Leaders” said it behooves parents to provide the necessary condition to teach their children good moral values of society, stressing that they should be taught how to be honest, patriotic and respectful.
“Children are to be loved and cared for and teach them how to respect others and inculcate in them the spirit of nationalism,” Mr. Wesseh asserted. He further stated that parents should avoid discrimination among children and making confusion or using vulgar languages in the presence of their children, stressing that they could engage in the very same bad habits exhibited by their parents.
Comment: Note the difference between this post from Liberia and an earlier post from Senegal? In Liberia the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community ensures that children can go to school while in Senegal the Government needed to pass a law that Heads of Islamic schools do not send their children to the road to beg.
