No tolerance for violence !
Yesterday I heard about the attack on Tahir Mosque while on vacation.
He who attacks a church is not just attacking a building. He reaches out to people who live their faith there, experience community, and find a place of rest and fellowship. Such acts have no place in our city.
I have known the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat for many years and really appreciate their great commitment to interfaith dialogue and social cohesion in Koblenz. The community makes a valuable contribution to our coexistence – with openness, willingness to dialogue and volunteer efforts.
That is exactly why my solidarity goes out to all members of the community these days. I hope the crime is quickly clarified and those responsible are brought to account.
Koblenz lives on respect, diversity and peaceful coexistence. We have to stand for it together – regardless of religion, origin or worldview. Hate and intimidation should never have the final word
