French parliament rejects same-sex marriage bill

AFP – France’s lower house of parliament Tuesday rejected a bill that would have allowed gays to marry.

The house, dominated by the ruling right-wing UMP party, voted by 293 votes to 222 to block the bill, with most left-wing lawmakers backing it and most of the right opposed.”We are against homophobia but we do not want to alter the image and function of marriage in the collective subconscious,” said UMP lawmaker Michel Diefenbacher.

Opposition Socialist party lawmaker Patrick Bloche had called the bill a measure to end a form of discrimination and “pass to a new stage in equality of rights.”

  1. This is a victory for humanity. If a species was totally celibate or totally homosexual, it will go extinct in one generation, to imagine the extreme scenario. This is another way of stating that both the ideas of celibacy and homosexuality are against nature.

    The Holy Quran states:

Do they seek a religion other than Allah’s, while to Him submits whosoever is in the heavens and the earth, willingly or unwillingly, and to Him shall they be returned? (Al Quran 3:84)

So set thy face to the service of religion as one devoted to God. And follow the nature made by Allah — the nature in which He has created mankind. There is no altering the creation of Allah. That is the right religion. But most men know not. (Al Quran 30:31)

  2. Celibacy itself is against nature but has been advised along with fasting for individuals with homosexual orientation by spiritual leaders. Its a type of Jihad to maintain sanctity of the institution of marriage.
