Queen attends graduation of Red Sea institute’s second batch of filmmakers

AMMAN (JT) – Her Majesty Queen Rania on Thursday attended the graduation of the Red Sea Institute of Cinematic Arts’ (RSICA) second Masters of Fine Arts class.

The RSICA board of directors, academic peers and friends and family of the 22 graduates as well as many of the school’s supporters from the Aqaba community attended the commencement ceremony in the Red Sea port.

Inaugurated in 2008, the RSICA is an educational facility designed to create and deliver the highest quality professional screen practitioners, and assist in the development of a creative, sustainable and prosperous screen industry for Jordan and the MENA region.

The core values of the RSICA are to guide and inspire with respect and humanity, and empower the creation and sharing of stories of the region for the world, according to a statement issued by Her Majesty’s office.

  1. Well, congratulations to the graduates! However … should we ponder how many of these graduates (this year’s and the future year’s) will find a job in Jordan in this field? When studying I am afraid the youth would be well served to ponder not only what they would like to study but also what jobs are out there.
