More than one hundred Islamic extremists rallied outside the US embassy in London yesterday to vent their fury at Washington over the killing of Osama bin Laden.
Police had to separate the group from supporters of the far-right English Defence League (EDL) who held a rival protest praising the US actions in shooting dead the Al-Qaeda leader in Pakistan.
The bin Laden supporters waved banners reading “US govt are the real terrorists” and US leaders were branded “murderers” by the radicals, who warned revenge attacks were “guaranteed”.
“It is only a matter of time before another atrocity – the West is the enemy,” Abu Muaz, 28, from east London, said. Read more
