A Century in Indonesia, the Ahmadiyya Community Calls for Humanitarian Solidarity

The Indonesian Ahmadiyya Congregation held a book discussion and roadshow titled “Ahmadiyah Muslims and Indonesia: 100 Years of Diversity and Humanitarian Work” at the Remcy Hotel in Makassar on Tuesday (February 10).

JAKARTA – Congregation AhmadiyyaIndonesia (JAI) held a Talkshow & Book Review Roadshow entitled “Ahmadiyah Muslims and Indonesia: 100 Years of Diversity and Humanitarian Work” at the Remcy Hotel, Makassar, Tuesday (10/2).

The event was held in collaboration with the Gusdurian Makassar community and Jalin Harmoni South Sulawesi.

The event marking 100 years of Ahmadiyah’s presence in the archipelago was attended by 100 people, including religious figures, academics, humanitarian activists, and government representatives.

The anthology book being reviewed is a work that records testimonies from 100 national figures regarding the role of Ahmadiyah.  The Regional Amir of JAI South, West, and Central Sulawesi, Ashraf Ahmad Muhiddin, explained that the activity aims to emphasize JAI’s commitment to maintaining diversity through the consistently echoed motto: Love for All, Hatred for None.

He also explained that the presence of Ahmadiyah in Eastern Indonesia is not merely a religious existence, but part of the pulse of society through various inclusive humanitarian services, such as regular eye donation and disaster relief.

Thursday (12/2). Meanwhile, leading academic, Prof. Dr. KH. Afifuddin Harissa, Lc., M.Ag., highlighted that tolerance in Indonesia often stops at the slogan level.
