MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, ENGLAND – Secretary of the Institute for International Relations and Cooperation (LHKI) of PP Muhammadiyah and Coordinator of Muhammadiyah Aid, Yayah Khisbiyah, represented Muhammadiyah in two prestigious international forums in England: Jalsa Salana held by the Ahmadiyah community on July 25–29, 2025, and the Minhaj-ul-Qur’an International Peace Conference at the University of Warwick on August 2–3, 2025.
Yayah’s presence at both events affirms Muhammadiyah’s commitment to establishing dialogue across religions, sects, and nations to encourage the creation of world peace.
“Mrs. Yayah is here to represent the Muhammadiyah Central Leadership to understand the situation and build relationships, and is ready to collaborate in facing global challenges for a peaceful and just future. She also carries the mission of introducing Muhammadiyah as an organization that upholds Progressive Islam,” said Syafiq Mughni, Chairman of the Central Executive Board of Muhammadiyah.

Yayah was one of the few women invited to address the estimated 40,000 attendees of the Jalsa Salana, along with a number of civil society leaders, religious organizations, and government figures — including King Charles.
In his speech, the Peace Psychology Lecturer emphasized the importance of Muhammadiyah’s Progressive Islam approach as a solution to global polarization and conflict.
“Muhammadiyah views Islam not merely as a symbol, but as an ethical force for building social justice. Through constructive dialogue, we can create a harmonious, peaceful, and just society,” said Yayah.
Diplomacy of Values and the Role of Muslim Women
At the Minhaj-ul-Qur’an forum , Yayah networked with Islamic activists and thinkers from various countries. She highlighted the importance of Muslim women’s involvement in building transformative peace.
“We need a new epistemology in the Islamic movement—one that is liberating, embraces differences, and transcends structural injustice and cultural violence,” he stressed.
Welcomed by World Spiritual Figures
During the visit, Yayah had the honor of meeting directly with the supreme spiritual leader of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community, Huzoor e Anwar, and the founder of Minhaj, Shaykh-ul Islam. The meeting marked a recognition of Muhammadiyah’s active role in moral diplomacy based on Islamic values and universal humanity.
Yayah’s presence in these forums demonstrates Muhammadiyah’s concrete steps towards internationalization, as well as the contribution of the Muhammadiyah diaspora in maintaining global peace and justice.
