DEBATE: Dr. Michael Brown vs Rabbi Tovia Singer [Christian vs Orthodox Jew]

Epigraph:

And the Jews say, ‘The Christians stand on nothing;’ and the Christians say, ‘The Jews stand on nothing;’ while they both read the same Book. Even thus said those who had no knowledge, like what they say. But Allah shall judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that wherein they disagree. (Al Quran 2:113)

At minute 22 Rabbi talks about why Jesus of Nazareth is not Messiah suggesting because there is still no peace in our world. Dr. Brown says that Messiah had to come before the second temple was destroyed, so Jesus of Nazareth is the Messiah and there is no other contender for this assignment.

Around minute 32 in this video Dr. Brown declares that Jews who don’t believe in Jesus will be condemned to eternal hell and Rabbi Singer returns the favor by saying that those who believe in Jesus’ divinity will be condemned to eternal death.

At minute 36 Rabbi answers why he is righteous and it is followed by Dr. Brown explaining why he is righteous.

Do we have to believe that majority of humanity is hell bound and only our sect or faith is approved by God or is there a better way to understand and practice theology in the 21st century? How can one maintain rationality and yet be pluralistic? I present a collection of articles that as a whole give us a rational yet pluralistic theology, where one group does not try to monopolize theology at the expense of the others:
