Epigraph:
Whoever saves a life it will be as if he or she has saved the whole of humanity. (Al Quran 5:32/33)

FRANKFURT (Reuters) – Biotech firm BioNTech said on Monday it widened an ongoing pivotal global study of its COVID-19 vaccine candidate to include testing in its home country of Germany.
Germany’s vaccines regulator, the Paul Ehrlich Institute, gave the approval for the Phase 2/3 trial of the experimental vaccine known as BNT162b2, BioNTech and its partner Pfizer said in a statement.
The global trial was initiated in July, with a view to including about 120 sites globally and seeking up to 30,000 participants in total.
More than 25,000 participants have been enrolled, BioNTech said, adding it remained on track to seek approval for BNT162b2 as early as next month.
The best of the Muslim Times’ collection for war against Covid 19:
In this day and age, understanding bacteria and viruses and developing vaccines are national security issues. In my view sizable part of every country’s defense budget should be spent in these pursuits rather than making tanks and other weapons.

A comment on the Epigraph above the article.
“Whoever saves one life ……..”. This saying is often quoted, but it is always suggested as being exclusive to Islam, whereas in fact it has its origins in the Old Testament and the Bible. Perhaps not many people know that.
Thanks. Please give us the reference if you can easily find it.
Google has many articles and references on the subject. Just Google “Whoever saves one life…”
For some reason this post is playing up. Tried to copy/paste and wouldn’t take it, and I wrote suggesting looking up on Google where there are many references, but what I had written has disappeared. Hopefully lucky this time. Will see, Otherwise I can only think that someone doesn’t like what I have written.
Something strange going on here. Two pieces I had written disappeared, and the first one has reappeared. Is someone policing me?
not us anyway. Your comments are all welcome and appreciated!
