Balakot: Indian air strikes, targeting militants in Pakistan

Every human life is precious and sacred; killing an innocent one is like triggering a genocide. (Al Quran 5:32/33)

India says it launched air strikes against militants in Pakistani territory in a major escalation of tensions between the two countries.

A top Indian minister said strikes targeted a training camp of the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) group in Balakot.

Pakistan said the strikes hit an empty area but vowed to respond.

Relations between the nuclear-armed neighbours have been strained since a suicide attack earlier this month that killed more than 40 Indian troops.

India accuses Pakistan of allowing militant groups to operate on its territory and says Pakistani security agencies played a role in the 14 February attack – claimed by JeM. Pakistan denies any role and says it does not provide safe haven to militants.

Tuesday’s air strikes are the first launched across the line of control – the de facto border that divides India-administered Kashmir from Pakistan-administered Kashmir – since a war between the two countries in 1971.

  1. Very funny when one hears contradicting claims from both sides. Who is correct it may take lot of time. LOC should not have been crossed by Indian air force. Now it is likely to escalate

  2. Pakistan was not expecting air strike across the border as in 1956 when India attacked Pakistan in retaliation for war in Kashmir. Sooner or later there will be fierce war between India and Pakistan using Atom Bombs. Both countries will suffer huge loses beyond repair. Prophecy ” logg kahain gay ka yahan Lahore hota thaa” may fulfill. Possibly after war some third country may take over both India and Pakistan and rule over there as British did for 200 years.

  3. I know that talking politely to Pakistanis is like ‘bhains ke aage been bajana’, but this constant nuisance of terrorism should end from Pakistan. Gone are the old days when governments could hide their failures. Social media adds a lot of pressure on any government. So what do you expect from a right wing government from India which faces this kind of situation? I think best thing is to give Pakistan taste of its own medicine. No matter you like it or not, but you people are never going to get back Kashmir or gain anything. Its only but a harassment tactic that you prolong.

Think before you act or perish in delusion. Pakistani army should invent other ways of staying relevant in Pakistan than use the tactic of India hatred. Without this there is no future for the present and next generation of Pakistan. Why is it that almost all the editors of this website of Pakistani origin choose to leave their homeland and live in western world, even after serving its armed forces, that will answer a lot.

God is kind to all, so should we be to all his creation.
