Istanbul, Turkey – Turkey’s high-stakes elections might be over, but the dynamics that will emerge after ushering in a new executive presidential system are yet to be seen in practice.
According to unofficial results announced by state media, Recep Tayyip Erdogan won 52.5 percent of the votes to become the country’s first executive president with significantly increased powers.

The branches of the Turkish government are now set to begin implementing a series of constitutional amendments approved in a referendum last year.
