An inmate has sued Oregon Department of Corrections staff for failing to serve meals that observe his Muslim faith.
Rashid Kambarov, 29, who is serving a sentence for rape, filed a complaint this week in U.S. District Court in Pendleton.
He is a legal permanent resident from Turkey and is incarcerated at Two Rivers Correctional Institution in Umatilla. He is suing the superintendent of Two Rivers, Troy Bowser, and other administrators at the prison.
Betty Bernt, spokeswoman for the Department of Corrections, on Tuesday declined to comment, saying the agency does not comment on pending litigation.

If we read Al Quran carefully that Allah permit Muslim yo eat the meat pork a little bit as long as do not harm your health. Million prople around the world eat pork meat they are just fine. They follow the health-expert than clerics who lack of knowledge of health.
Do not put your trust on uneducated clerics, place your trust on health expertist. You will be save.
My conclusion
Allah and prophet permit Muslim eat the pork meat a lttle bit and drink alcohol as well. Do not eat to much and do not drink alcohol to much will harm your health.
Islam is not a religion of dogmatic but logic.

Your interpretation is ‘unique’ (I would say wrong). My interpretation is that you may eat a little bit of pork when you are near starvation, instead of starving to death. not ‘a little bit as long as do not harm your health’, why should we drink alcohol when the harm is more than the benefit? I agree that Islam is a religion of logic, the problem is you and logic.
