Local mosque to host disease, bio-terrorism preparedness forum

A local mosque will help host an informational session teaching the faith-based community how to react to a possible disease outbreak or bio-terrorism attack.

The session, titled Love God, Serve Together, will be held at the Baitul Ata mosque at 1800 Willow Trail Parkway in Norcross on Saturday from 10 a.m. until noon.

The Georgia chapter of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community collaborated with the Suwanee ward of the Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and three local medical organizations — the Medical Reserve Corp., the Gwinnett, Rockdale, Newton and Hall County Health Department and Noah’s Ark, a disaster preparedness non-profit.

They’re inviting churches, temples, synagogues or mosques to bring their congregations to learn how to keep the community safe in case of medical emergencies.

Participants will learn about mass causalities and the types of disasters they should prepare for.

The forum will also teach participants about points of dispensing, volunteer reception centers, medical reserve corps and community reception centers.

Cafe Raik in Duluth will serve a light lunch.

Hazeem Pudhiapura, leader of the Georgia chapter of Ahmadiyya, said the forum directly meshes with the mosque’s mission and the mission of most religious entities.

“Being prepared to serve during a disaster helps us demonstrate our motto of ‘Love for all, Hatred for none,’” Pudhiapura said.

The event is free to attend, but officials recommend registering at www.lovegodservetogether.org.

  1. Can we deny that Christianity is a religion of peace, love, mercy? The fact that Ahmadiyyah and other religions can live in peace and treat all religions in just and love in America and Europe.

Yes! I agree that The word of Islam is peace, but it is slogant only, in reality there is no peace under the Islamic ruler. Am I wrong? Or Islamic teaching is wrong? Or you are blind?
