Campaigning in Michigan late in the 2016 presidential election, Donald Trump boasted that he had once been named the state’s “Man of the Year.”
In fact, there is no such thing as Michigan Man of the Year.
Before and after his victory, Trump has proven uniquely willing to lie, exaggerate and mislead. By all expert accounts, the president is more frequently inaccurate than any president before.

Why call them false claims, not lies? We can’t be sure that each and every one was intentional; in some cases, he may have been confused or ignorant — what we know, objectively, is that he was not telling the truth.
