DEARBORN, MICH.—A billboard written in Arabic located along a Michigan interstate near an Arab-American community is calling Donald Trump “afraid.”

The Detroit Free Press reports the sign translates into English as, “Donald Trump, he can’t read this, but he is afraid of it.” The sign went up last weekend and the Free Press reports it’s funded by the Nuisance Committee super PAC, which was started by the creator of the Cards Against Humanity card game.

A spokeswoman for Nuisance Committee tells the newspaper it picked Dearborn because of its high percentage of Arab Americans in a swing state.

“We came up with it because we believe that Donald Trump’s hateful rhetoric is not based on reality. It’s based in fear,” Melissa Harris told the paper. “And we think that irrational fear is what’s driving his anti-immigrant message.”

Trump called for a temporary ban on Muslims entering the United States earlier this year. In an openly anti-Muslim statement, Trump proposed “a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country’s representatives can figure out what is going on.”

He is now calling for an “extreme vetting” of people entering the country.

On his Oct. 12 debate with Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, he said Islamophobia was a “shame” but then said, “We have to be sure that Muslims come in and report when they see something going on. When they see hatred going on, they have to report it.”

His Islamophobic messages appeared to be propelling American Muslims to new levels of political participation.
