On July 1, 2016, hundreds of people gathered for celebrations at Baitul Islam mosque in Vaughan.

This year, the celebrations were extra special for the Muslim community because they coincided with the last Friday in Ramadan, a significant holy day for Muslims.

It was also special since the Syrian refuges celebrated their 1st Canada Day with Ahmadiyya Muslim community.
