I pray for the repose of the soul of my brother Asad Shah. Not trying to respectful here. His simple statement and viewpoint should matter. To have his own kind stomp on him…shows the rest of the world just where tolerance, and respect end…and some foreign ideology can’t adapt. Hate begets hate. violence begets violence. If this happened in Canada…I gotta tell ya…the two jerk offs that did this – NO one would ever find their bodies. The world grows tired of this one sided narrative. Animals will be put down in the months to come.
Thanks Mike Duffy for supporting the plain truth. Alas the political elite may also undetstand it.
Whoops typed that too fast. NOT trying to be dis-respectful here! I trust people of faith. NOT atheists. That is my own belief. But I don’t push that viewpoint on anyone. I must say – without ever meeting Asad – sounds like he made a wonderful new life for himself. I feel terrible his new start and new life turned out this way. I sincerely wish nothing but the best to his family – and hope in time, and in some way…they can understand and move past this. Thanks for the comment mr. Khan.
“I trust people of faith. NOT atheists.”
And you wrote about tolerance and respect in your first comment. How ironic.
NOT ironic at all. There is an entire element of atheism that is over the top militant. Even Bill Maher frequently makes fun of religion and religious people – and recently commented that in several states there is ongoing conflict to remove crosses and other religious symbols from public spaces and public life. His comment was – stop it! we are atheists NOT vampires! Living in a democracy and free country means freedom to choose or not to choose religion. NOT freedom from it. If the bulk of any population believe in aliens – it doesn’t mean you have to. But again – a massive campaign to offend as many of those people is disgusting and offensive. But happens in the west everyday. Atheists statistically don’t get involved in their communities. Give the least amount to any charity. I propose they have a value system incompatible with the rest of us. With no belief in the after life – and no golden rule to follow – where is the lesson for right and wrong and to live a better life? not a more materialistic one. Perhaps that is one reason teenagers today have such high depression, suicide and drug related issues. Nothing to live for. People of faith also statistically live longer. As per charity – you don’t have to believe me. The Bill Gates charitable foundation – challenged the 500 biggest CEO’s of companies to put in their wills – or establish trusts – for their favourite charities. ALL the religiously affiliated ones did. The Atheists continue to donate the least to charity-including disaster relief, red cross and much more. So feel free to trust atheists if you wish to. I don’t. I stated it from the beginning. I believe in the right to say what you want – and will fight to protect those rights – even if you don’t agree with me. But odd you decide to comment on my views as ironic. Apparently i don’t have the same rights as you do because I don’t agree with you. I wonder which one of us is really the dick here.
MD is right. Faith is kntegral part of human being. However if some one denies it it is his or her decision. Atheists are very much tolrated by people of faith. Having faith does not mean intolrable to Atheists. This is what I follow being folloer of faith.
