© Reuters Makeshift oil refineries in Syria are obtaining crude oil from the Islamic State networkIsrael’s defence minister has accused Turkey of buying oil from the so-called Islamic State (IS) group, thereby funding the militants’ activities.
Speaking in Athens, Moshe Yaalon said IS had “enjoyed Turkish money for oil for a very, very long period of time”.
Turkey denies permitting IS smuggling, and the US recently rejected Russian allegations that Turkish government officials were in league the militants.
IS has captured swathes of Syria and Iraq, including operational oil fields.
“It’s up to Turkey, the Turkish government, the Turkish leadership, to decide whether they want to be part of any kind of cooperation to fight terrorism,” Mr Yaalon told reporters after a meeting with his Greek counterpart.
“This is not the case so far. As you know, Daesh [Islamic State] enjoyed Turkish money for oil for a very, very long period of time. I hope that it will be ended.”
Mr Yaalon also alleged that Turkey had “permitted jihadists to move from Europe to Syria and Iraq and back”.
US state department officials last month rejected Russian allegations of Turkish government involvement but a state department spokesman said IS oil was being smuggled into Turkey via middlemen.
Efforts by Israel and Turkey to repair damaged ties already hit a setback this month over demands for compensation for the deaths of 10 Turkish activists on a ship carrying pro-Palestinian activists in 2010.
They were killed in clashes with Israeli commandos who intercepted a flotilla trying to break Israel’s blockade of Gaza.
Senior Israeli and Turkish officials met in December to try to repair relations, raising hopes of progress in negotiations to import Israeli natural gas.

Noticed that the US Government did not deny that ‘Turkey’ is purchasing IS’s oil, they only mentioned that they do not think that President Erdogan personally benefits. (He does not, only his son does). And … Israel is reported to have purchased oil from him also. (What a mess).
TURKEY’ERDOGAN will pay the high price for supporting the armed rebels in Syria, supporting Muslim Brotherhood, and shot the Rusian Jets, killed 2 pilots.,,,now Turkey has turned to be dictator, no freedom of speech anymore, citizen can not allow to criticize their leader anymore. Erdogan become a dictator.
Added that Turkey has been buying oil from ISIS since long time ago, it means Turkey support ISIS -sunni armed Rebels. Allah all Knower. Tukey can not hide its ignorance.
Whereas Allah condemn the armed rebels and will punish severely as Allah says;
Those who plot evils ( to topple the authority), theirs will be severe torment. And the plotting of such will perish. QS 35;10.
Those who support the Armed rebels also will be punished.
I urge strongly all ARMED REBELS obey God’s laws, God will bless you with a good live, but if you reject God will punish you severely.
All citizen have to obey the existence authority, even you do not like or against your faith you have the right to protest peacefully.
