From my view, they are not honest Muslim. They do not tell the truth.
Actually, they are Muslim and they are implementing the ancient Islamic laws through the book of Al Quran and Hadith.
I give you some examples;
Terroriist Muslim are IMPLEMENTING the ancient Islamic Shariah such as; the system of Caliphate QS 2;30, Women slavery QS,23;4-6, Women have to cover whole her body with cloth. QS.33:59., A wife do not have a right to reject if her husband want to have sex QS.4:34, be heading, be crucified, or their hands and legs be cut off from different sides,QS 5:33,who commits theft, cut off the hands of both QS 5;38,The fornicating woman and the fornicating man, flog each one of them with one hundred stripes.QS 24;2-3.
The execution of sentence is conducted at front of public.
From the book of Hadith;
Terrorist Muslim kill apostate, blasphemy, gay and lesbian.
Women are forbidden to hold a position in Government, Voting,–forbidden to seat side by side with man, forbidden to go out side without a man, women are forbidden to sing a song at public, women are forbidden to drive a car etc.etc.
CALIPHATE
Rasulullah SAW in the unity of this issue said: “He came to you – being business ( life ) you are under the leadership of one person ( Imam / Caliph ) – and he wanted to divide the unity of you and your congregation scatters , then kill he ! ” [ HR . Muslim ] .
Rasulullah SAW said : ” If two people inducted Caliph , then kill the last of the leader, HR Muslim
Those who follow Caliphate (ISIS) when they die will go to Heaven. Those who does not follow the Caliphate is considered enemy of God, should be punished.
The book of Hadith is not the word of Allah but the word of men (ancient men ).
As long as Muslim scholars from many sects do not dare to reform the book of Hadith, I strong believe that the extremist non Muslim still accuse that Islam is not peaceful religion.
I urge Muslim scholars around the world to tell the truth and to reform Islamic teaching;
1. reform the ancient interpretation of Islam
2. Reform and abolish all violent Hadith from the book of Hadith,

Ali hidayah, when you say that ‘the book of hadith should be reformed’, what do you mean? Do you mean that some portions of the hadiths should be deleted or left in tact for historical purpose but with no importance attached to them?
If the objective is the first segment of the question, then that will be fraudulent because it will deprive the world knowledge of the life of Muhammad.

Most Muslim Scholars of many sects of Islam believe in the book of Hadith as holy Book beside Holy Al Quran–and they say just like you said above.
As long as Muslim scholars think that the book of Hadith can not be corrected, we can see peaceful society in this world as we see today—Terrorist kill innocent people, Muslim and non Muslim alike.
Al quran the word of God, teach people to love each other, tolerance with differences, forgive some one make mistake, justice for all people, equality and freedom of religion and expression.
Conversely, The book of Hadith command Muslim to kill innocent people such as; gay-lesbian, apostate, Blaspheme, and infidel etc etc–as we see in Paris, California, 11/9 etc etc.
Why do you suggest NOT reform or correct it?
