Video: Laughter is the best medicine: Stoned for saying Jehovah (life of Brian)

No one is to be stoned to death according to the Holy Quran.  But, here is a brief glimpse from the Bible:

If, however, the bull has had the habit of goring and the owner has been warned but has not kept it penned up and it kills a man or woman, the bull is to be stoned and its owner also is to be put to death.

she shall be brought to the door of her father’s house and there the men of her town shall stone her todeath. She has done an outrageous thing in Israel by being promiscuous while still in her father’s house. You must purge the evil from among you.

you shall take both of them to the gate of that town andstone them to death—the young woman because she was in a town and did not scream for help, and the man because he violated another man’s wife. You must purge the evil from among you.

Then two scoundrels came and sat opposite him and brought charges against Naboth before the people, saying, “Naboth has cursed both God and the king.” So they took him outside the city and stoned him todeath.

As soon as Jezebel heard that Naboth had been stonedto death, she said to Ahab, “Get up and take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite that he refused to sell you. He is no longer alive, but dead.”

because they could not bear what was commanded: “If even an animal touches the mountain, it must bestoned to death.”

  1. As I had said, stoning to death was prescribed in the Bible-OT. It is not mentioned in the Quran. The prophet Muhammad s.a.w.s. may have applied this punishment for adulterers as he used to follow the law of Moses a.s. and even prayed facing Jerusalem for 14 years. But after the change of Qiblah verses were revealed, the prophet s.a.w.s. never faced Jerusalem. He always faced Ka’abah for daily prayers.
After the verses of Surah Noor (Chapter 24) were revealed, the punishment for adulterers and fornicators is 100 lashes only.
Some Muslim scholars insist that the punishment for married person i.e. adulterer is stoning to death. That is not right. I can prove it from the beginning verses of chapter 24. There is no secret meaning in them and as such no difference in punishment for adulterer and fornicator. Wassalam.
