Eid dinner 2015 – 100 years of islam in Mauritius

On Wednesday 5th August 2015, the Jamaat of Mauritius held an Eid dinner for guests at the Nusrat Mosque in Quatre Bornes. Over one hundred guests attended the event, including the guest of honour the Acting Prime Minister, the Honourable Xavier Luc Duval. The Speaker of the National Assembly, the Honourable Mrs Hanoomanji, other Ministers and politicians, diplomats, business leaders, journalists and academics joined religious leaders for the function. After the recitation of the Holy Quran, the audience was addressed by the Most Reverend Ian Earnest, Bishop of Mauritius, Archbishop of the Indian Ocean who praised the activities and values of the Ahmadiyya Jamaat. The main speech was given by Amir Sahib Mauritius, Mr Moosa Taujoo. He spoke about the peaceful message of Islam and how it provided the solution to the various social and political issues the world is facing today. The various activities of the Jamaat worldwide to promote peace were highlighted, including the various addressed by Khalifatul Masih V to leaders across the world. Each guest was presented with a copy of the book ‘World Crisis and the Pathway to Peace’.
