MILPITAS, CA – An an affort to encourage new writers to take to pen as to campaign against anti-Islamic write ups, a nation wide workshop carried out last week by SOHAIL AWAM, the national chair of the Muslim Writers Guild of America.
Speaking at Baitul Basir Mosque workshop, Suhaib focused on paying attention to letters to the editor feature of most newspaper and to comply with their requirements to get published.
He said the Muslim Writers of Guild team encouraged writers to submit their letters for corrections and editing them to newspaper standards.
Several writers who brought their laptops too part in writing practice.
In addition to letters, wristers are also encourage to do op eds. Other opportunities include blogs, feature articles and comments posts are can also be used to make effective responses.
