I work with a child genius. She went from school to university, scored first-class honours and a full scholarship to do her PhD, due in eight weeks.
She is a casual academic who gets very impressive student ratings and her colleagues (me included) love her. This is on top of the pressing deadline for the PhD, the usual family responsibilities and her wedding later this year (she and her partner have 300 guests).
Anyhow, this month, in the lead up to her wedding, she had a quick visit to an ATM (oh, weddings and money, we all know how that goes). While she was waiting, a stranger came up to her and asked if she would like her head chopped off.
Yep, Australia today.
