The gruesome murder of 25-year old pregnant Farzana Parveen on 27th May in Pakistan, by some 20 of her own close relations, including her two brothers and her father, with stones, bricks and sticks, in broad daylight, on a street bustling with people and police, virtually in the compounds of Lahore High Courts, has shaken the world. The father offered himself for custody, and stated he killed her as a matter of ‘family honour’.
This happening in a country with 98% Muslim population and with an ‘Islamic’ constitution, even if not directly fuelled by the news reporting, perceptions permeate that this brutality is something to do with Islam. Nothing could be further from the truth.
So-called ‘Honour’ killings exists despite Islam, not because of it and are in every respect contrary to its teachings. Those who perpetrate it, demonstrate how far removed they are from faith and how deluded they are that murder is ‘honour’.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim community UK wishes to make it clear that Islam considers ‘honour killing’ as murder. Islam provides no justification for such crimes and instead calls for the protection of women. Neither any verse in the Holy Quran nor any tradition of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) permits such crimes.

The Islam is very beautiful Religion, when presented in its true perspective hardly there could be any prejudised extremist who would reject it.
The Islam has given an exalted status to women that Paradise is said under the feet of ones mother, she has the rights of ownning property and share in Inheritance. So the Islam dose not consider girls or women as sheeps or goats or cows or like any other animals and the Islam has full regard for the feelings of women folk, they have the riths of self- determination in the matter of marriage, None else has the right to impose his or her will over them. Hazrat Khadijatul-kubra r.u.h. has send herself marriage proposal to the Holy Prophet Mohammad (p.b.o.h) Which He kindly acceded to. None has the right to slaughter them in the name of honor, who so ever did that, he is killer and the laws of qasas applied to such person with full force and answerable to the State as well as to Allah and does not deserve any Mercy. The case under consideration has doble the crime, the crime for killing the women and the crime for killing her unborn baby so the culprit deserve the exampelry punishment.
