As an American Ahmadi Muslim woman who believes in the Messiah, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian, India, I condemn this act by the Boko Haram group. This is against the teachings of Islam.
Boko Haram, like the Taliban, is against girls’ seeking education. I don’t know which Islam they are following or which Quran they are reading because Islam granted women the right to seek education, right to spiritual equality, economic freedom, etc., more than 1,400 years ago. Allah (God) does not discriminate between a man and a woman.
These days you will see Muslim women active in many professions, such as medicine, nursing and teaching. For example, the former prime ministers of Pakistan, Benazir Bhutto; Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina Wazed; and Mali, Cissé Mariam Kaïdama Sidibé are notable Muslim women who sought higher education and later became heads of state. Similarly, the current president of Kosovo, Atife Jahjaga, is her country’s first female Muslim president.
It is a matter of deep regret that women still have to fight to seek education. Countries such as Nigeria, Pakistan and Afghanistan are breeding extremists whose aim is to oppress the weak by killing or kidnapping girls who only want to seek education, which is a right given to them by their religion. I urge the U.S. government and the Nigerian government to do everything to find these girls. I hope and pray that they are found safe and without any harm. Boko Haram, please #bringbackourgirls.

I am so happy that Muslim Ahmadiyyah already started to reform the Islamic teaching from ancient Arab tradition 1400 year ago. Excellent!

How ever, we are living now in era technology and information, we need more reformation specially when we see conflict, and violence in Middle East, millions people are suffering and dieing,so embarrassing and sad.They kill apostasy, blasphemy etc.

The Teaching about the reformation from my view.
Can you imagine what kind of life Arab people lived during Muhammad’s (saw) time?

Ancient interpretation; Often we hear from extremist clerics or scholars that women can not drive a car, can not travel by her self without companion with her brother, , can not sing a song at TV or public place, can not get the same education like a man, can not sit side by side with man and can not shake hand too. woman can not ask for divorce, can not be elected for president or Governor, can not vote to elect her leader, woman can not be imam at mosque. Woman will receive half inheritance of man. Husband have the right to beat his wife if his wife reject to intimate with him. Woman can not wear pan, woman can not open her hijab, burqa at public place, woman have to wear burqa or hijab, or veil or Niqab,or Jilbab, when she go out of her house.

At ancient time women stay home all day from the morning to night to rice her children.Therefore women do not need to have a good education as man.

This ancient Arab tribe tradition still be preserved by old people from one generation to generation until this present .They are so proud to preserve old tradition from their ancestors.

We, Muslims, really need a reformation to change/correct the old interpretation to the modern interpretation according to development of science, technology, and human cultures in 21 st. century, otherwise, Muslims still live in the dark age, undeveloped, backward, or in other words, Muslims can not lead human to the right path, to Heaven as Allah promised, those who follow His commandment rightly and completely will be rewarded a paradise in this world and hereafter.
He will get 2 Heaven.

Allah warned us as following.
Verily never will Allah change the condition of a people until they change it themselves (with their own soul) . QS .13:11.

Look at the condition their ancestors-times.
Are women the second class in Islam?
Are women are treated as slave and disgrace.

And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts). (5) Except from their wives or (slaves) that their right hands possess, – for then, they are free from blame; QS 23;5-6
.
Where the girls are less valued, they are insulted and treated inhumanely.

They ascribe daughters to Allah – Pure is He – and for themselves is what they desire! 13 (57) When one of them is given the good news of a female child, his face becomes gloomy and he is choked with grief. QS 16;58.

This laws are not based on Al Quran but bases on ancient Arab tradition, 1400 year ago. Prophet Muhammad (saw) said in Al Quran about condition of Arab’s culture at Muhammad time as below;
The Arabs are a nation that often occurred conflict, hostility, kidnapping girls and civil-war caused of the different ethnic and religious belief. They killed their children foolishly, due to their lack of knowledge QS 6;140. A man could marry women more than 4 QS.4:3, many women became slaves, and can be traded etc. QS.24:33 They were at the brink of a pit of Fire.QS 3;103.
Imagine how Arab people made a house? They made house from skin of animal, It was not real house but just a tent, moveable,QS.16;80-81.They moved from one place to another place. At Muhammad’s time there was no police to guard people, there was no hospitol, when people get sick, also there was no hospital for animal, no telephone, buses and electricity. Very very hard to find water to take bath and cleanse the dirt clothes. They live in desert. When strong winds come up in the desert, the hot sand can damage human skin and eyes. Therefore Allah and the Prophet Muhammad advocated women to cover their entire body with a cloth.

SADISTIC PUNISHMENT.
Those who fight against Allah and His Messenger and run about trying to spread disorder on the earth, their punishment is no other than that they shall be killed, or be crucified, or their hands and legs be cut off from different sides, or they be kept away from the land (they live in) 23 . That is a humiliation for them in this world, and for them there is a great punishment in the Hereafter; (33) Except those who repent before you overpower them. Then, be sure that Allah is Most-Forgiving, Very-Merciful. (34) QS 5;33-34

MY CONCLUSION .
Verily never will Allah change the condition of a people until they change it themselves (with their own soul) . QS .13:11.
And such are the Parables We set forth for mankind, but only those understand them who have Knowledge. QS 29; (43)
If you refuse to learn, you are hurting yourself. If you accept correction, you will become wiser. Proverb.

I want to see more reformation from Muslim Ahmadiyah, Ameen.

alatif, all is not well in 21st century. There is poverty and illegal sex amongst Christians in Europe and the west.
The tradition may be bad but the laws in the Quran are good for all times for all people… Please do not go after wrong deeds being done by so called Muslims… to blame Islam.
