His Excellency the President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma has congratulated the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat in Sierra Leone, on the occasion of their 53rd Jalsa Salana (Annual Conference) held in Bo over the week end, and also commended them for the work they have done over the years in the area of education, health agriculture and so on.

Declaring the conference open, President Koroma noted that for a Christian to open a meeting of Muslims is a great achievement by the nation. He pointed out that as a mission, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat  has shown that Islam is a religion that does not promote extremism  and that Islam is a religion of peace, unity and submission to the will of Allah. President Koroma reiterated that as a Government they attended the conference to show that they are in partnership with the Ahmadiayya Muslim Jamaat. He said Islam is about Education and that Ahmadiayya is associated with education. He stressed that as a nation we have to maintain and sustain our religious tolerance, as Sierra Leone is the world most religious tolerant Nation in the world.

In his address, the chairman who also doubles as the  Amir and Missionary-in-charge of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat in Sierra Leone Amir Saeed UR Rahman, welcome and appreciated  all present at the conference and maintained that Ahmadiyya has established in two hundred and four countries (204) of the world and that the Holy founder of the Ahamdiyya Jamaat Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad did not bring anything  new into the

religion and that they are operating within the Holy Quran, Traditions and Sunni of the Holy Prophet  Mohammad (whom  the peace and blessing of Allah be upon).

He urged that Muslims should refrain from revenges and that hostility is not good. He recalled how the head of the world wide Ahmadiyya Jamaat Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad sent letters to world leaders in UK, Australia and so on about messages of peace.

He urged all to know that the strongest tie among us is that we are all brothers and sisters.
