India: Jama’at-e-Ahmadiyya Kolkata in International Kolkata Book Fair, 2014

The 38th International Kolkata Book Fair was held from 29th January to 9th February, 2014 in Kolkata, West Bengal, India.

Inaugurated by Cultural minister in the presence of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal- Srimati Mamta Bannerjee as the Guest of Honour, the Fair had more than 800 book stalls from 29 countries.

Jama’at-e-Ahmadiyya Kolkata has been participating in this book fair since 37 years, Masha’Allah, Al’humdulillah.

Hundreds of people visited our stall daily and gave their views and comments about the exhibition in the ‘Comments Book’.

Badges stating the slogan of Jama’at –“Love for all Hatred for None” was also made & distributed.

The publisher & Book-sellers Guild advertised & gave news about the stall. Various ministers, V.I.P.’s & Police Officers were presented The Holy Quran and lectures of His Holiness Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad (ATBA) :WORLD CRISIS AND PATH WAY TO PEACE”.

This year Jama’at tried to acquire 1000 sq. ft. area but could manage to get only 400 sq. ft. Since previous year Jama’at has also got the opportunity of exhibiting The Holy Qur’an in more than 60 languages including many non-Indian languages.

We had lot of obstruction from various other Islamic Organizations and the local newspapers tried their best to prevent the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at from setting up its stall.. but with Allah’s help we were successful in our efforts.
