Sana Ahmad: A student in Pakistan, @sanaahmad95
A few days ago me and my father were having a discussion about Ahmadiyyat and our beloved Khalifa ( May God be with him) and my father asked me something that left a great impact on me and I decided to turn to words. The question he asked was that, All of us Ahmadis in Pakistan hope that one day the Khalifa (Huzour) will come back to Pakistan and once again we will be able to benefit from the blessings of Khilafat but the question is, what are we doing to make that possible? Can we honestly say that we deserve to have Hudhur among us? All of us know that it easy to talk the talk but we must walk the walk. We can boast about our loyalty to Khilafat all day but in the end, it’s our actions that matter. There is no doubt in my mind that all of us dearly love and respect our Khalifa ( May God be with him) but the point is, do we truly listen to him? Do we wholeheartedly obey all of his commands? I believe that we lack motivation and balance, we obey Huzourss commands for a while but after that we become worn out and go back to our old ways. What we are forgetting is that we are the torch bearers of Ahmadiyyat, we have the chance to earn God’s blessings by spreading His true religion but alas, we choose to waste our time.
Approximately 90% of the population of Rabwah constitutes Ahmadis, but we cannot say that we have created the perfect environment here. Outsiders greatly praise Rabwah whenever they visit but we still have a window of opportunity to become better. Rabwah who was once famous for it’s people that sent blessings to everyone and anyone they passed by offering them Salam, now reeks of the absence of this beautiful prayer. Although, it should be remembered that the teachings of Islam and Hudhur’s commands are for each and every one of us, they are not only for the people in Pakistan or London but Pakistan has been presented as an example because it’s considered as the center. Yes, we cling to everything our beloved Huzour says but we only truly understand and act upon the commands that seem easier to us or that aren’t even commands at all. In Australia, Huzour says that an iPhone is much more user friendly than a Samsung phone so the whole Jamat suffers from a turmoil, The iPhone owners feel pride while the rest vow to buy the iPhone with their next salary. Whilst we forget to give due attention to prayer, fasting and reading the Promised Messiah’s books. We are the best judges of our own conditions, Let’s ask ourselves today that do we cherish and obey all that Hudhur says? Do we try our utmost to become a shining example of our teachings? So certainly, man is the master of his own destiny, and so are we.
If we want to alter our destiny then we have to strive to attain what we want, and this includes all of us, you and I, and every one of our brothers and sisters. The time has come to truly judge ourselves and to realize the immense amount of duty we have been bestowed with. It is true that many among us are great Ahmadi Muslims and are worth praising, but I think all Ahmadis around the globe should be tagged as the best by people of other religions. I certainly have no right to point fingers at people and neither am I trying to do that, I just think that all of us including myself need to critically analyze ourselves so we can serve Ahmadiyyat in its true essence.
