The Book sellers and publishers association of South India have been conducting the Chennai Book Fair for the past 37 years. This year the fair was conducted at the YMCA Grounds at Nandanam, Mount Road, Chennai from the 10^th till the 22^nd of January 2014 which had 750 stalls from various leading book publishers and sellers, government and Religious organizations from the southern States of India.

During the 13 day fair apart from the bookstalls there were cultural programs and competitions conducted everyday. The 13 days fair attracted more than 2 lakh people visitors. 7 different Muslim Sects participated separately in the fair by installing their Stalls.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission’s Chennai Chapter has been a member of the Book Sellers and Publishers Association of South India and has taken part in these fairs for the past 25 years, which makes ours the only Muslim stall to participate since 1990.

This year we focused more on highlighting the books: Life of Muhammed (saw) and The World Crisis and The Pathway to Peace, which we distributed to many of the dignitaries who visited our stall which included Writers, Government Officials, Politicians, Cine Directors and TV Fame Personalities. TV Channels such as Win TV, Sun Music, etc also made coverage of our Stall.

We have also displayed Holy Quran and Islamic Books on various languages and sold the Holy Quran in Tamil, English, Telugu and other books on Islam in Tamil, Urdu, English, Malayalam and Telugu.

We also displayed the History of Our Jama’th from 1889 to 2013 at the top of our Book stall. Ansars and Khuddams of Chennai Jama’th gave duty at our stall in sale of books and propagating the message of Ahmadiyyat, the real Islam. In Total we sold books at discounted prices for more than Rs.25,000, Al’humdulillah.

By the grace and blessings of Almighty Allah we have forwarded our Message to thousands of people of Chennai: Apart from non-Muslims, non-Ahmadi Muslims and Ulamas visited our stall in more numbers compared to earlier years.

May Allah make our efforts fruitful by showing the right path to all these people who are earnestly searching for the True Path of Life, Ameen.
