India: Blood Donation Camp by Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya Bangalore a Big Hit

Reacting to a report in the local Newspapers on the Shortage of Blood in the city of Bangalore, the Youth wing of the Worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat’s Bangalore Chapter organized a successful Blood Donation Drive in association with the Lion’s Club (Sheshadripuram Branch) on the grand occasion of India’s 65th Republic Day Celebrations i.e. Sunday the 26th Jan.

On a daily basis the city of Bangalore requires a minimum of 700 units of Blood but it tends to fall short of 200 units. TheMajlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya Bangalore under the leadership of the Qaid Ashraf Khan Sb, immediately took up the task by organizing the Drive at the Ahmadiyya Masjid at Wilson Garden, to help reducing this shortage and Keeping in mind the golden Islamic Teaching of Service to Humanity.

Banners and Posters were put up in and around Wilson Garden and Flyers were distributed by hand and newspapers, requesting and inviting the general public to contribute towards this noble cause.

The Drive was flagged off with Prayers (Dua) by Jb. Barkat Ahmad Saleem Sb the Amir in absentee of Bangalore Jamaat, in the presence of Mv. Wasim Khan Sb the Naib Nazir of Dawat-il-Allah Bharat and Mv. Kaleem Khan Sb the Mubaligue Silsila Bangalore Jamaat. We prayed that may our blood be of use to all those who really are in need of it.

The Drive received a massive response, people from all walks of life attended the event. By the Grace of Allah, we were successful in collecting 60 units of blood, mostly from the Khuddam followed by Ansars, Lajna and outsiders. Many more had turned up and wanted to donate blood but due to various conditions such as insufficient Hemoglobin, age factors and under medication, they had to be turned down.

Apart from the blood camp there was a free body and health check for everyone by medical experts.

Alhumdullilah, the Blood donation drive enlightened its donors about the importance of Donating blood and also fulfilled the motive to bring awareness among Bangaloreans on the lack of Blood donors in the city.

Very good publicity was also achieved by this task, a very large number of residents in and around Wilson Garden appreciated the service of the Jamaat. The rest of Bangalore got to know of it on TV news channels and Newspaper Reports.
