Ahmadiyya Muslim Children Raise Funds for the Philippines

yourlocalguardian.co.uk: Over two months ago, the deadliest disaster recorded in the history of the Philippines hit Tacloban, an urbanised city in the Eastern Region of the Philippines. The catastrophic event lasted nine days (November 2nd 2013- November 11th 2013) over which it is estimated that over 5,000 innocent people died in the wreckage, with many people injured and many homes lost to the calamitous typhoon Haiyan. However, funds are being raised for aid for water, food, medicine, and much more, from the wealthiest countries in the world, to small communities; all are  giving time and good will to raise  more money for the unfortunate people who have been affected by the death and wreckage.

In Thornton Heath, the Ahmadiyya Muslim community from a local mosque raised money for the survivors to have a part in starting the recovery of the country. This community, before taking part in events to raise donations, learnt about what had happened within the fatal nine days. Each child and adult was given a hypothetical situation where they were an aid worker- what aid would they give out to the people first? With this came a unanimous response- water. Bearing in mind that £2 would allow the Red Cross to  give eight people a water purification tablet for a day, it gave the community the drive to raise as much money as possible for the people living in the remains of Tacloban, and other areas hit by the typhoon.

  1. RE Typhoon Haiyan or Yolanda, Pope Francis advised the Christian Filipinos to pray the Prayer of Why- Why did such tragedy happen?
Some Muslims in Zamboanga City believe that the Typhoon Yolanda and the earthquake in Bohol and Cebu provinces, where several old churches were destroyed, were Wrath of God! They have something to do with the burning of about a thousand houses of Muslims in Zamboanga City in September 2013, the arson allegedly done by elements of the Philippine Marines. Almost all of those houses had at least one Qur’an in every house. Several Masajid were also burned. The order to burn them came from some identified politicians.
You burn Masjids and the Words of God and nothing will happen to you? The alleged Mastermind has been nationally & internationally shamed due to his callousness and ineptitude in handling of gov’t actions during calamities.
I pray the soldiers who burned the houses & Masajid in Zamboanga city will also be punished and humiliated by God even in this life…
