It has become a norm and a religious tradition of the Ahmadiyya Community to start every year with prayers and supplications and serving mankind through social and community work. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Germany is also setting a great example and presenting unique way to welcome the New Year. The community starts the year with special early morning prayers (Tahajjud), followed by a good cleaning up, in all the main cities of Germany.
On the first January 2014, thousands of people of all ages gathered in the Ahmadiyya Mosques around the country and said their Tahajjud and Fajr prayers. After the prayers groups of Ahmadi members went to different parts of the cities and cleaned up the area. This event was organised by the Majlis Khummdaul-Ahamdiyya Germany (an Auxiliary organisation of AMJ); the event was largely covered by the local media.
The Ahmadiyya Community in Bensheim, Germany also participated in this activity and extended a great help to the local community and the council of the city; and more than 66 members took part in cleaning the area. The local residents appreciated the wonderful gesture of Ahmadiyya Community and were surprised to see the voluntary and dedicated services by the members of the Ahmadiyya Community – the community that believes in the Messiah of the time and practices the true teachings of Islam.
