Human rights activists broke the Israeli naval blockade on the Gaza Strip Monday, passing the six nautical mile limit imposed on Gazan boats by Israeli authorities, Press TV reports.

Hundreds of Palestinian and European activists boarded 20 fishing boats, and managed to breach the blockade, sailing for several hours before returning.

The Resistance Flotilla activists were attempting to “put pressure on Israel to stop its violation against the fishermen” and “against the illegal blockade and against the illegal occupation,” said Majed Abusalama, spokesman for the organizing group, according to Press TV.

Abusalama added that the activists “want to say to everyone that enough is enough,” and the action was a call for “resilience and justice.”
