MUNSTER – German President Joachim Gauck has praised the Muslim community as a part of the German society, asserting Germany as a common land for all its citizens.

“Over two thousand sanctuaries and mosques have been built in different cities of the country,” President Gauck was quoted by Anadolu Agency on Thursday, November 28 .

He has also asserted the fact that Islamic Theology departments in German universities are an important element of the country’s recent history.

“The establishment of faculties providing education in Islamic Theology is a pragmatic agreement for the future,” the German President said.

“Everyday more Muslims become part of the German society and take part in the development of it,” he added.

“We want to educate people who in the future will give religion lessons in schools, mosques and universities,” said the president.

Germany is believed to be home to nearly 4 million Muslims, including 220,000 in Berlin alone.

The country is Europe’s second-biggest Muslim population after France, and Islam comes third in Germany after Protestant and Catholic Christianity.

Turks make up an estimated two thirds of the Muslim minority in the European country.

Germans have grown hostile to the Muslim presence recently, with a heated debate on the Muslim immigration into the country.

A recent poll by the Munster University found that Germans view Muslims more negatively than their European neighbors.

Germany’s daily Der Spiegel had warned in August 2012 that the country is becoming intolerant towards its Muslim minority.

  1. I think the title of this article is wrong!!!
President Gauck did not praise the Islamic Theology, he praised the “Munster University’s Islamic Theology Center”. That is not the same. If I am wrong, please correct me, but I did not read or hear that.
And also the President, still does not agree, that “Islam belongs to Germany”, but “muslims do”, which I think is nonsensical.
    Salam

  2. Turkish PM Erdogan has commented on the term ‘moderate Islam’ often used in the West to describe Muslims who aren’t terrorists. Erdogan said, “These descriptions are very ugly, it is offensive and an insult to our religion. There is no moderate or immoderate Islam. Islam is Islam and that’s it.”

In Islam, I would like to tell that we don’t have any conflicts between science and our religion. On the contrary, many of new science theories proves that our holy book ‘Quran’ must be from Allah, this is because it tells us with science facts that has been discovered only recently. Although Quran is from 14 centuries, it has many signs that earth is spherical, in addition is has signs about the Big Bang theory of the universe creation, in addition it has many science facts about the stages of women pregnancy and how the child is created, and a lot of other things that tell us that the Quran must be from the God.

Sharia law is found in all countries in the world even in the country that hate Muslims more i.e. Israel- You seem to confuse penal law in sharia which only applies to Muslims and no one else with day to day on how Muslims should live. Sharia law is only for Muslims I can not see where the problem is.:

Sharia law is divided into three main sections:

Faith (Aqida).Ethics (Akhlaq).the acts of Muslim which divided into two sections;- The acts of worship, or al-ibadat, these include: Ritual Purification (Wudu)Prayers (Salah)Fasts (Swam and Ramadan)Charities (Zakat)Pilgrimage to Mecca (Hajj) Human interaction, or al-mu’amalat, which includes: Financial transactions Endowments Laws of inheritance Marriage, divorce, and child care Foods and drinks (including ritual slaughtering and hunting)Penal punishments Warfare and peace Judicial matters (including witnesses and forms of evidence)

Sharia, or Islamic law, offers moral and legal guidance for nearly all aspects of life – from marriage and divorce, to inheritance and contracts, to criminal punishments. Sharia, in its broadest definition, refers to the ethical principles set down in Islam’s holy book (the Quran) and examples of actions by the Prophet Muhammad (sunna). The Islamic jurisprudence that comes out of the human exercise of codifying and interpreting these principles is known as fiqh. Muslim scholars and jurists continue to debate the boundary between sharia and fiqh as well as other aspects of Islamic law.

Please do me a favour and show us where in the sharia law it says you can commit rape? because I know 100% you will not be able to find it. the media are brainwashing a lot of people, open your eyes to the real truth. Islam is about peace, something the media doesn’t portray. why don’t you take the time and effort to talk to a well known and respected Muslim scholar before you start writing utter nonsense? Back your theories up with facts!!! you wouldn’t though, would you, because you’ll never find your theories in the sharia law.
