Events being held around Houston to remember 9/11 victims

At Atascocita High School, two teachers who lost family members will speak.

The National Honors Society will also place miniature American flags for victims of the attacks. The ceremony starts at 6:45am at the green in the front of campus.

Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Houston will hold an interfaith prayer service at the mosque on Spears in north Harris County at 7pm.

The group, Cry Out America is inviting everyone of all faiths to attend a prayer service at the Harris County courthouse in downtown Houston. That happens at 11:30am.

The Galveston Fire Department along with the veterans of foreign wars will host a remembrance ceremony to honor fallen first responders. That’s happening at the Eugenia and George Sealy Pavilion at 11:45am.

H-E-B employees will serve breakfast and lunch to firefighters today in remembrance of 9-11. More than 1,200 H-E-B employees will visit 193 fire stations. In addition to serving meals, the employees will also help out with cleaning and maintenance.
