SRI LANKA AHMADIYYA MUSLIM ANNUAL CONVENTION

The Annual Convention (Jalsa Salana) of the Sri Lanka Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at was held on last Sunday the 12thMay 2013 at Ahmadiyya Jubilee Hall, Periyamulla,  Negombo. The Markaz Representative Mr. Khalid Mahmoodul Hassan Bhatti was the Chief Guest. The day-long program started with pre-dawn prayers and the main event started at 9.00 a.m. with flag-hoisting followed by silent prayers.

In his inaugural address, the National President of Sri Lanka Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at A.H. Nasir Ahmad said: The Founder of the Ahmadiyya Community Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad inaugurated this Convention (Jalsa Salana) in 1891 and is being continued in the Jama’at. Ahmadiyya Community is holding this Annual Convention in all the countries. At the time of the first annual convention in Qadian in 1891, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad said: Through these conventions, people should know the real knowledge about God and must establish brotherhood amongst the members of the Community. Promised Messiah, peace be on him, also prayed for those who participate in the convention, the National President added.
