ONDON: A police dog has eaten a crime suspect’s hamster. Police officers were searching the home of Muza Khan in Oldham for drugs when the incident occurred. The sniffer dog knocked over the rodent’s cage, before devouring the animal, the Digital Spy reported. One of the dog handlers made him cough up the hamster, but it was already dead. No drug charges were made against Khan, although he later appeared in court charged with animal cruelty, as a bald parakeet was found in distress during the search. 46-year-old Khan admitted to not taking proper care of the bird, named Miko, and was fined £ 110 by Oldham magistrates with £ 400 costs and banned from keeping a bird for two years. Miko has since been rehoused by the RSPCA.
