Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Gambia Donates to Janjangbureh Prison

Crr — The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at recently donated a set of arm chairs to the Janjangbureh Prison, at a ceremony held at the Governor’s Office in the island town.

Presenting the chairs, the Amir missionary in charge of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at, Syed Saeedulhassan Naib, said the donation was to complement the efforts of the Gambia government, noting that it is not the first time they are supporting the prison. This, he went on, is a clear testimony of the Jama’at’s commitment to national development.

Naib prayed to the Almighty Allah for long life and good health of everyone, and promised to continue contributing positively to the welfare of humanity and national development.

The governor of the region, Alhaji Ganyie Touray, commended the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at for its humanitarian assistance continually rendered to the Gambian people. He reiterated that the Ja’amat’s support to health, education and other sectors, is a clear indication of its conviction to worthwhile ventures towardsnational development.

The chief superintendent at the Prison, Kebba Ceesay, described the Ahmadiyya Jama’at as a true humanitarian partner and expressed hope that the magnanimous gesture will go a long way towards assisting prisoners in need.
