ISLAMABAD: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) awarded death penalty to Malik Mumtaz Hussain Qadri on Saturday, DawnNews reported.
Mr Taseer was assassinated by his security guard and personnel of Punjab Elite Force, Mumtaz Qadri, on January 4, 2011 at Kohsar Market in Islamabad.
“The court has awarded my client with death. The court announced the death sentence for him,” Shujaur Rehman, one of Qadri’s lawyers, told AFP by telephone.
Judge Pervez Ali Shah announced the verdict at the court behind closed doors in the high-security Adiyala prison in Rawalpindi, the lawyer said.

“And there is life for you in the law of retaliation, O men of understanding, that you may enjoy security.” (Al Quran 2:180)
“O ye who believe! equitable retaliation in the matter of the slain is prescribed for you: the free man for the free man, and the slave for the slave, and the female for the female. But if one is granted any remission by one’s brother, then pursuing the matter for the realization of the blood money shall be done with fairness and the murderer shall pay him the blood money in a handsome manner. This is an alleviation from your Lord and a mercy. And whoso transgresses thereafter, for him there shall be a grievous punishment.” (Al Quran 2:179)
I think the punishment should be exercised and all those violent Mullahs who are spoiling the peace of the country should also be sent to paradise on an urgent basis through legal means, whenever possibility presents itself. Unless, of course, all the religious parties of Pakistan repent, repeatedly apologize for their crimes to the nation of Pakistan and arrange drives to create a fund of a billion dollars to not only pay blood money to the Governor’s family, but also to all the other victims of their violence.
“Pakistan’s blasphemy law was passed in the mid-1980’s when Pakistan was ruled by Genera Zia ul-Haq, who held staunch Islamic views. The law lays down strict punishments for any “injury to the religious feelings” of Muslims, including up to life in prison for desecrating the Koran, and death for slandering the Prophet Mohamed.”
In my opinion such laws are a death sentence to freedom of speech and freedom of religion and to the life of any nation.

This is what exactly he deserves. May Allah enable the government to act upon this verdict and let it be a lesson to each killer and murderer who calm their own desire in disguise of religion.
As for the fanatic public threat ” you kill one Qadri thousands will be born” will be vise a versa Inshallah only if this sentence is strictly carried out. If they had killed each and every killer of this kind. People will have to stopped this practice long ago.
It is not easy to kill a human being or think to kill a human being. As , even for this man I would not have liked to be killed. I wish he had rational approach towards religion and not have omitted such and act. Hence it is the dire need of the Nation to change such mindset of the people. Make them realize that it is not a virtue rather it is a sin, pure illiteracy and hard hardheartedness as well as defaming the beautiful teachings of Islam. This kind of practice is a sin against Islam and the Holy Prophet peace be upon him. God say he is mercy for the worlds, Rehmatul lillaalameen. Holy prohet’s practice or Sunnah shows that he NEVER ever took hi personal revenge and NEVER did he allow any of his companions to do so in his life ever. There have been several accounts how he spared the life of the people who even tried to kill him. The insulting incidences too were never revenged. The woman who threw dirt on him while on his way to Masjid. The man who put his cloth around his neck and demanded his money etc.
The people who first attacked the Holy Prophet in the boundaries of Ka’aba where He was praying and then killed the son of Hadhrat Khadijah r.a. when he came to his rescue. He forgave the woman who munched the liver of his dear Uncle Hamza after his brutal murder. So many examples of his Sunnah are there to take heed. Als!!! they took heed there would not have befallen any wrath of Allah on this Nation.
This Qadri Guy deserve this punishment. I admire the Judge to give this redict. If the justice prevails in the country, country will progress. Fanaticism in the country has increased for last few years, which caused a major chaos in all cities and towns. The Mullaism should be vanished in the society, otherwise Pakistan will be shattered completely. Government must implement law and order with iron hand.
