JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia has agreed to give a SR75 million loan to Mauritania, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

Saudi Ambassador to Nouakchott Saud Al-Jabiry presented a letter from Finance Minister Ibrahim Al-Assaf to his Mauritanian counterpart approving the loan from the Saudi Fund for Development.

“This loan reflects the brotherly relations between the two countries,” said Al-Jabiry.

He said the loan would be provided to support Mauritania’s food security programs.

A number of officials from the Mauritanian Ministry of Economic and Development Affairs and Saudi Embassy attended the meeting between Al-Jabiry and Mauritanian Economy Minister Sidi Ould Tah.
