Brigadier detained for suspected links to banned group


ISLAMABAD: Authorities detained a serving brigadier suspected for ties with a banned organisation, BBCUrdu said in a report on Tuesday.

The report of the brigadier’s detention was confirmed by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), DawnNews quoted BBCUrdu as saying.

The senior army officer Brigadier Ali Khan was posted at the GHQ, the BBCUrdu report said.

Khan, who had been posted at the GHQ for the past two years, was detained on May 6.

  1. The Govt has to be able to enforce its laws, especially those against terrorism. Anyone who has significant association with terrorism should pay the price, as any innocent life that is killed as a result of terrorism is priceless.

  2. It is just a start, you will be surprised to see what happens next. At its own Pak media does not disclose such news. Thanks to BBC. It reminds me my tenure in Pak Army. Two times I was deprived of apprised appointments being Ahmadi. Top notches used to consider Ahamdi officers as least trustworthy inspite of the fact that never ever any Ahmadi officer of Pak Army was tried for any anti state activity. Now the “officially declared Muslim” senior officer has been detained. Let us wait and see to which sect he belongs.
